Skydiving Information

Skydiving is often a new and uncertain experience for people, which can lead to lots of anxiety and more than a few questions. Skydive El Paso is here to answer any questions you have, to provide peace of mind before you take the leap! Some of the most frequently-asked questions we encounter include:

Can I jump alone or do I have to jump with an instructor?

Unless you have passed mandatory training and earned solo jump time, you absolutely must jump with one of our trained professionals! Tandem jumps are non-negotiable.

Is there a weight limit?

All of our equipment is weight-tested to specific degrees of reliability, including when it comes to supporting the weight of jumpers. To that effect there is a max 175lb weight limit for tandem jumps to ensure the safety of both jumper and skydiving instructor in El Paso, TX. For solo jumpers, there is a 235lb weight limit.

How old do you have to be to jump?

You must be at least 18 years of age with a valid photo ID to participate in any jump or to take skydiving lessons in El Paso, TX. We cannot take minors under any circumstances, including with parental release. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

What should I wear for the jump?

We encourage all of our jumpers to wear temperature-appropriate clothing. This often means shorts and a t-shirt or jeans and pants. Whatever you’ll feel most comfortable in during the jump! We also request that you wear sneakers—no sandals, boots or loose shoes, please!

Do you offer pictures or video of my jump?

We do offer jump filming for a small additional fee. This process documents your entire descent, from the moment you leave the plane until the moment you land. Please inquire as to the cost and availability of this service when you book your jump.

Please also note that under no circumstances should you bring your own camera or attempt to film your own jump via a smartphone! The United States Parachute Association (USPA) prohibits jumpers with less than 200 jumps to wear any camera gear on their person or equipment.
